We're pretty lucky this year that the cold weather is only just starting
to creep in. I can remember a couple of years ago when I had to pack my
summer dresses away the moment August ended! If i'm honest, i'm in
total denial that Winter is coming, and i've still been wearing summer
colours, denim shorts and sandals whenever it's warm enough to do so.
So today, if any of you guys are like me & don't want this warm
weather to go, and you're not ready to ditch all of your summery clothes
just yet, here are 5 things i've been doing recently to make my summer
clothes work for Autumn!
Black T-Shirt | Primark (similar)
Black Waist Belt | Primark (similar)
Burgundy Suede Jacket | Boohoo (similar)
1.Layering is your new best friend. Anything off the shoulder looks great layered over a collared shirt, t-shirts can be layered under cami dresses, and cropped knits look great layered over patterned shirts. I feel like layering basics can turn something simple into something that looks like you've put so much more effort into your outfit. There's really no need to invest in an entirely new wardrobe because the seasons have changed!
2. My next tip is to wear ankle boots & a jacket over anything summery, to make it more weather-appropriate. This can work with summer dresses, skirts and crop tops, and co-ordinates too! If you've been reading my blog for a while, you'll know I pretty much wear dresses or skirts all year round, but adding coordinating jackets and boots makes your outfit so much warmer... So go ahead and wear that mini dress, who cares if it's October!
3. Mixing summery colours with your new darker coloured Autumnal pieces is a great way to integrate your new and old pieces. This time of year, I find myself wearing black more and more, but a great way to spice things up is to pair your white jeans with black ankle boots and a black knit, or if burgundy is more your colour for Autumn, it looks great with denim! In this outfit I've chosen to wear my new burgundy knit with some denim summery shorts from Gearbest, along with coordinating boots & a jacket!

5. Something which I've taught myself over the past couple of years, is that it's great to buy coloured accessories, but to save money, my bags and shoes have to work all year round. Whether you decide to buy black, white, navy or nude, you won't regret it when your favourite bag can still be worn throughout this season and well into the next!
These are such fab tips <3 it feels like my wardrobe is full with so many summer pieces that I'm not ready to pack away just yet so I will definitely be trying some of these out x
