WHY DONATING TO CHARITY IS IMPORTANT TO ME

I'm so excited to let you guys in on a little secret i've been keeping for a while now... It's very rare that I get to work with brands that I've shopped at for years and years, so when Boohoo approached me earlier last month I just couldn't say no! They kindly offered to update my wardrobe with a few staple Autumn/Winter pieces! But like most bloggers out there, my wardrobe is so full and if i'm honest, I only wear half of what I've got, not because I don't love every piece i've bought, but because I simply forget I have it! What intrigued me about this campaign, is that Boohoo have partnered up with a few selected Charities to support a good cause, so in exchange for Boohoo kindly updating my wardrobe, I too will be donating some of my much loved clothing to Charity this weekend to give a second life to a few of my treasured pieces.

Every so often, I have a wardrobe clear-out, sometimes it will be selling things on Ebay, but most of the time it's donating clothes to my local charity shops. I love the idea that somebody will be happier with an item of clothing that I have than I was, and the fact that the money goes to Charity is even better! As I don't personally relate to one specific charity, I like to split up my clothing and send them to different charity shops to help them all out.

Among the items I'm planning to donate, here are a couple which are my favourites. This is the first denim jacket I bought this year, and have since bought a couple more, so I thought somebody else may be able to get more wear out of it than me. I've worn this acid wash jacket so many times over the summer, my favourite memory whilst wearing this is when I went to Blackpool Switch on in early September. Me and my best friend Sarah caught the train, had fish and chips infront of the sea, watched tons of amazing (and free!) live acts perform, and finished the night by dancing in the moonlight on the sandy beach. As much as I treasure these memories, I think giving to charity is so important, and urge you all to give as much as you can, and give a second life to something you've not worn in a while.

And now onto the fun part... I was let loose on the Boohoo website, and styled my outfit around this amazing biker jacket from their Autumn/Winter Jackets. I've been seeing embroidery everywhere this season, so I thought I'd take it one step further with embroidered patches! The pop-arty words & cartoon bows, lipsticks and anchors give this edgy jacket a more girly vibe which I absolutely love! And grunging it down as much as I could, I opted for some much-needed mom jeans in a stone-washed grey colour, with a rolled up bottom and distressed detail to the front of both legs. To finish off the look, I searched the site for the perfect crop top, which I could keep all year round. I love that it's so versatile, I could wear this basic crop to the gym, in summer with shorts, or in Autumn as I have here with high waisted jeans and a biker.

I can't wait to hear your thoughts on these amazing Boohoo finds, and I would also love to know if you guys ever donate to charity? Let me know!

  1. I absolutely love that jacket - I really want to get a few embroidered pieces of clothing whilst they're still 'in' because they just look so fun! I'm a big believer in giving clothes I don't use anymore to charity too. I'm moving house in a few weeks and before I do so I'm going to have a massive wardrobe rehaul and take a few bags down to my local charity shops.
